Can I tell by finding it somewhere like 'My Computer'? I have Windows XP on a Dell computer. I'm trying to compare the speed of my computer to a laptop I am looking to buy, so in other words: Is 1.6 GHz (the laptop speed) fast? I'm not a real computer expert, so I need some tips please! :-) Thanks

I am having problems configuring my Outlook Express and having the configuration work properly all the time. I had been using a trial version of Outlook, but my computer broke down and I sent it for repair.

I can't find my Office Version, so I changed to outlook express. I have McAfee SpamKiller, and I am using Yahoo Mail, as well as Google Mail.

It seems that every time I shut down my computer, that when I turn it back on that my email will not connect, and the configuration has been changed.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

My finances are limited right now, so I can't really afford to pay for McAfee, or Office 2007.

Often when I'm applying patches to a Solaris box, I want to do it from single user mode. Is there any difference in getting to single user mode by using init -s instead of init 0 and then boot -s? Init s is certainly faster. What are the pros and cons of using one method over the other?

And if so, is it safe? I'm looking for a solution to keep my MANY passwords, serial numbers, logins, etc. safe but accessible from anywhere. I've used standalone software for years but it means I have to have two database sets (work and home) and it seems like I always need the one I'm not using at the time.

I have two OS installed on my laptop: XP Proffesional and Vista. Normally during BIOS boot up I should get the option of which OS I want to select, yet for some reason this option does not come up any more during the process, instead the PC comes up immediatelly with Windows XP start up process. Has any of you people out there any idea of why this is the way it is??? Thanx for your help.

I have a ton of these files on my C: drive, they dont take any space on the drive but i want to delete them so i dont have to scroll down far to find stuff. Here's a list of some of them...They go from "PR1A0.tmp" to "PRFF.tmp" with many different numbers besides 1...they go to "PR199.tmp" and then from "PRA0.tmp" to "PRA9.tmp" and then "PRAA.tmp" to "PRFF". What do i do with them and can i delete them safely? i don't want to run diskcleanup because one time it made windows crash and i had to reinstall it, but luckily, i didn't have to reactivate it...i just want less stuff in the C: drive. Also, can i delete "aolconnfix", which is a text document and a utility(i don't use AOL) and "DVDPATH", which is also a text document. I also need to know if i can delete "twacker" and "YServer"(both also text documents.

If this is the case what do you do differently than normal to get that amount of content on there? I usually burn my cd's with windows media player. Any help greatly appreciated!!
