If you want your local ip adress do this
~~>On the Task bar (lower right of your screen where the clock is) right click on the little network button and click "Open Network Connections."
~~>A window should pop up with any wireless or network internet connections you are using
~~>If you are running windows xp on the side bar it will tell your your running ip adress when you highlight your active connection (will be the one that says "connected" below the title.)
However if you want global (which is the ip everyone else in the world sees you using) you can go here and it will tell you
~~> http://www.ipchicken.com/

you can go to...
start>settings>my network connections (for an older version of windows.
start>control panel>network connections (for windows xp)
or there might be a icon on your task bar on the right that looks like two computers. you can double-click on that and click on the support tab in that window.

Type in 'cmd' (without ')
Type ipconfig and you will see IP address.
