Everytime I try to do something on the computer it says my virtual memory is to low and it kicks me off from whatever I am doing. how do I get my virtual memory up?

i have been infected with a virus from a pop-up and i scanned and removed it, but after that, everytime i open a word file in (which is in my desktop) another copy of the file always gets created. Also, a file suddenly appeard in my drive d e and c, which is "system volume information" and "page file" and "recycled". note: all the stuff that suddenly appeard are kinda blurry. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my computer and how i can fix it?

Please suggest if I should switch off the button of my UPS while I turn off my computer and should I also switch off the mains button in this case.

Or should I keep the main button on and switch off the UPS button so that it may keep charging?

Does UPS keep charging while we work on computer?

I have a windows xp installer CD but lost the cover which contain the 25 digit installer key, earlier i have instaled the software from that CD but due to recent virus attack i have formated my computer. Can any body help me to find that key from my CD without calling Microsoft Office in India??? & this cd was never used on any other computer Earlier!

Why is it when I download videos, and watch them in Windows Media Player 11, I cannot skip to where I want to watch? Instead I have sit and watch the whole 2hrs of a video. Is there any software I can use so I will be able to skip parts of the video? The file format is Windows Media Video.

After a computer crash and hard disk replacement I now observe a change under Windows Explorer -
C Drive/Docs&Settings/(myname)/......
following this string there is no reference to "Cookies". This ref. existed before the crash. How can I reinstate this reference back on screen?

I burned a DVD and when I play it on my DVD player a message appears that says " To remove this message, http//:www.vso-software.fr". The message stays on screen for 1 minute then is off for one before reappearing again. This happened throughout the whole movie. When I go to the website they just try to sell me some crappy software I don't want.

I keep getting a pop-up thingie at the bottom right-hand screen near the clock that says my virtual memory is too low. I've deleted file after file (between pictures and songs, over 100) and cleaned out my add/remove programs to only the ones I need and use. I've also cleaned out the cookies and defragmented the computer. It's still saying my virtual memory is too low. What is that and how to I make it higher?

I am looking into buying an iPod. I am wondering if iPods are only for apple? As I seen others that like look like an iPod but are MP3 players. So is iPod strictly for apple? Is there IMB compatible iPod for say Gateway or Dell computers? Please explain as I am somewhat confused.
