This morning my computer is very slow. I was told to update my yahoo messenger, which I did. However, it is hanging and takes forever to open new pages. PLEASE HELP!!!

I backed up my Firefox folder in the "documents and settings" folder and I had to install a clean version of Firefox because it was freezing on start up. How do I restore the passwords from a back up?

I tried restoring the signons.txt file back that didn't work? Am I missing something?

How do you get that download pop up window to stay cleared? Everytime I close it and download something else after pushing clear, everything that I ever downloaded is still on it.

The item I just won is really for someone else. It is an expensive item (I don't have the funds in my palpal account for the item at the moment)
The person I won the item for wants to use their credit card to pay for it. Is there a way to connect another persons credit card to my paypal account so I can make the payment.Are there any other options if not?

i am trying to restore my computer with system restore. however, everytime i run the system restore it says it couldn't complete it. how can i fix this problem and do a successful system restore?

My sister "broke" her laptop yesterday and didn't wait for me to come home today to fix it. She attempted to repair it with superglue.

However, it was a simple key detatchment which I could have snapped back on, but she made harder because now all the parts are hardened with glue. Here is a picture:

The W key came off and she attempted to put it back on, but the S key came off. So she tried glue. The hinge to the W key is now very stiff and the S key's hinge is glue onto the back of the key. Also, the pad to the W key (that soft part in the middle) has eroded a bit, you can see a small hole. The E key isn't broken, it's off to show an example of an OK one.

So, how do you think I can fix it? I've tried to dissolve the glue with a q-tip with alcohol and with acetone, but no avail, it hasn't dissolved it enough to move. Is there any other solvents or anything else?

Or do I have to get her a wireless keyboard now?

Hi I got this DVD that I cant find in store any more since it is really old and I was wondering if I would be able to make a copy of it since the copy I currently have is not as good as it used to be. So I was wondering what I need to make this happen I already have a DVD burner which I have burned DVDs on it which will only play on 1 out of 5 DVD players I own, the Cd's I have burned play on everything . So does my computer need a seconded drive and if so what type of drive another DVD burner or a plain CD ROM drive. Also since the DVD is copy right protected is there a special type of FREE software that will allow me to copy the disc to another . Is there a way of coping the disc without another drive or burner? thanks

I can receive email in my Outlook 2003; however, when I want to answer or forward an email, it simply sits in the Outbox. I can click on it and say "send", it tries to send it, but can't Any ideas??? Thank you!

i downloaded them to windows movie maker,added music,burnt it to disc and it played fine.after adding some video effects,it burns onto a disc,but when i play it,the video stops after 10 seconds,but the music continues to play.any ideas.maybe buy a mac next time?

Ok, so I have my own account on the computer. (We use Windows XP still, if that helps at all), and me and my dad both have administrative accounts. But when he gets on, he sets my account to a Limited one, and changes my password on me! Is there anyway I can make it so he cant do that to me anymore???

The website says that you need a configuration of a 3.0 GHz processor speed, 512 RAM, 128bit video card. I was wondering if I download it in advance instead of trying to watch it streaming, will my 2.0 GHz processor hold me back. My video card is 256MB which is plenty. I thought the frame rate might still be affected. I have a new HD 1080p monitor and i wanted to test its resolution but the WMV file is the only source material out there with this resolution.

I am using Linksys wireless router. Without router I can use one computer that works fine,but whenever I connect the router even in the first computer i don't get web page displayed .However, Internet icon is still present in the right side corner of the computer. What could be the problem?

I downloaded this splitter to experiment on a video I have. Now I don't want it on the laptop. I went to Program Files and tried to delete it from there. It didn't work. I tried using Add/Remove Programs but it is not in the list at all. Any ideas how I can get rid of it?
there is this file rms.dll in the folder that I can't seem to delete it. any ideas what this could be?

I have yahoo messanger but they dont support Virgin Mobile users for some reason.They're partners with a bunch of different mobile providers but not this one.I kinda figured they would be because Virgin Mobile uses the "Sprint Network".Or how ever that works.Anyways.....i need an instant messenger that does support, or is partners with "Sprint/Virgin Mobile.Thanks!

I recieved a new laptop this week with vista. Unfortunately, when I tried to use the webcam I just bought (windows vx3000) it said I need to use the xp operating system. I returned it and purchased another (creative live! ultra for notebooks) and checked the web site first which said it will not work with vista. I am a tad frustrated... does anyone know of a webcam that DOES work?
