I am trying to get my system restore to be go back (1) one week,please help!

wel if you have your system restore active that is it is in the mode of making restore points then......
click START --> all programs --> accessories -->> system tools --> and then system restore.... once you are there then you'll find a new window which has a calender from there choose yor restore point like a date for one week back and your computer will get restored to that date (the restore points are highlighted and you can restore to those daes only)

What often works is to boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as the computer starts up. Once in Safe Mode, then try the system restore. If it works (hopefully it will), then reboot and go back to regular Windows. Good luck.

SYSTEM RESTORE... a favourite of mine for a while, though it is not always the magic bullet you hope it will be. Here's how it's done: Go to START....click on ALL PROGRAMS...find ACCESSORIES...choose SYSTEM TOOLS...and down at the bottom of the list TA DA.............SYSTEM RESTORE! Good luck.
