After I've been online an hour or so, my puter gets real slow then I get a small pop up message telling me my 'systems virtual memory is low & Windows is increasing the size of the virtual memory paging file & that some requests may be denied'...But my system remains slow & I have to shut down then start up again to regain normal speed, so is there something I can do to increase my systems virtual memory so this doesn't occur anymore?

Please help! I keep all my photo's on my computer (stupid, I know!) I've been meaning to save them onto a disc, but that's another story. Anyway, our computer crashed, so my husband did a complete system recovery using a disc. Everything was wiped out...including my pictures of my children!!! I've called around and everyone tells me something different. I dont mind paying $ if it can be done, but I don't want to be ripped off! I've been told that there is a special type of equipment that only searches for "film", but that is very expensive and not a guarantee. It's just hard for me to believe that my files can't be found....lol, especially after watching so much CSI! Computer experts...please help!!!!!

Okay. I have to make sure nobody gets any wrong ideas here. I have a friend who might have gotten his computer hacked. There is this person, we don't know who they are, and they're trying to ruin my friend's marriage. No wrong ideas, we have no clue who this person is. My friend never heard of them before. We don't know anything more than the e- mail address, but maybe it is an e- mail spoof. My friend has pictures of himself, only head shots, and the unknown person sent my friend's wife an e- mail saying my friend keeps greeting the unknown person with a "Hello, my future fiance." This is not my friend. He would never do something like that. No one on the internet can be trusted unless you know for sure who they really are. Okay, I don't need any answers for that. This is just background info. Anyway, I just need to know how someone can hack into a computer to steal files. My friend is about to get screwed over. (Continued in additional details...)

I've got an iMac running Mac OS X 10.4.8. I never, ever use the classic (system 9) version of the os, and I want to either get rid of, or combine my OS X and system 9 system folders. I noticed that all my fonts are in the system 9 folder, but they are available to me in OS X.

What can I delete? How can I figure out what's needed and what's not, or should I just leave well enough alone?

thanks!
