Windows xp admin password hack?

Question

I have lost the password to my computer and i can not install programs because i am not admin. Is there a methos which i can reset my password or a hacking program to do this

But microsoft turns the blind eye for this and keep saying this makes windows unstable

3- access c:\windows\system
4- copy SAM file to a disk
5-search the internet for l0pthcrack
6- open the SAM file in the program
7- give it time
8- WALA the Administrator Password infront of you
