Is it a program that you installed? If it is, assuming you're using Windows, go to the Add/Remove Programs section in settings, uninstall and reboot. See if that works for a start. If it does not, there's other things you can try. Please advise.

I had the same problem too. It a spyware software that sometimes intentially get installed with you download something.
Your best bet is to do a virus scan and spyware scan to clean up your hard drive. The reason why I suggest doing both scans because it could be either a trojan virus or spyware software. I hope this helps.
You could try Search and Destroy for your antispyware software and maybe any good virus scanner.
Good luck!!!

It is malware. download this removal tool.
http://www.spywareremove.com/removeDriveCleaner.html
you can also use online scan to remove it and symantec and AVG anti virus and i expect the others have it down as malware and have instructions on how to remove on their sites.
However the best of the lot is rogueremover
http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php
It will get rid of it and any others lurking in your system.
