Chances are the program you're playing your movies / music from has it's own equalizer in it. In this you'd be able to remove / reduce the bass will still maintaining the mid and high tones. In WMP10 you click on view>enhancements>graphic equalizer. Click turn on and drag the far left ones down as far as you choose to reduce bass.

I have this problem when watching movies on my pc. My speakers aren't that great and fuzz with a lot of bass / explosion scenes. This solves that problem.

Honey, do you have a flat screen or a desktop flatscreen? If so and its a Dell product, then the big box with the dial on the top of it, is your base........ Just turn it down a notch or two... it should have a big dial, on it like mine does..... I completely understand your not being familiar with it all, I was the same way, when I first got my destop flatscreen!! In fact my kids knew more about the computer than I did!! HaHa!! They had to show me, everything about computer's!! I knew nothing about them, at that time!! Smile! You'll get to knowing your's "like the back of your hand" before you know it hun!! You'll see! Smile!!! And good luck to you!!!
