A couple days ago I posted a question in regards to my internet not working and got some responses but nothing works :( my computer experienced a registry error and I fixed it using CHK DSK not when I boot up CHK DSK runs everytime....not sure why??
Also since the registry error my internet will not work everytime I start firefox or explorer its just gives a blank page and the loading bar at the bottom trys to load the page but it never does? I have re-installed firefox and nothing happens... I have tried to make back ups of my winsock and winsock2 registry and delete the old ones and that doesnt work....I have tried multiple reg fixes still nothing...I really have no clue why it doesn't work b/c I have 2 other pcs that run off my Linksys WRT45G and they both work fine... can anyone point me in the right direction thanks in advance...

I am going to get an iPod soon. I want to know if it is possible to ruin it by putting something on it from a source that had a virus or some other type of thing like that. If somebody put their music onto my computer so I can add it later, would those file contaminate my computer? As you can see, I am sort of new to iPod equipment so I thank you in advance for helping me. Have a good Christmas also!

Okay. I've tried and tried to figure what's wrong with it but it's making me mad now. You know how the little promotions come up on the side of your computer from Real Player on movies music and etc...? Well anytime the little thing pops up my whole screen resolution changes from 1280 X 800 pixels to 800 X 600 pixels. And every single time I have to go and change it. After I change it, if something new is clicked: like let's say I click a new song to listen to it changes for a moment to the 800 X 600 then back to the 1280 X 800. It just takes a while. But that's after I've already changed it the first time. Does it make any sense? It's faairly new lab top and I've run pretty much all the freakin' virus checks you can. The thing is that it's only with Real Player. Am I just crazy or does someone know what I'm talkin' about?

About 90% of computer problems posted on Yahoo Answers have at least one answer involving a computer virus as the suggested cause. About 10% involve questions that suggest the problem being correlated to a virus.

What is wrong with these amatuers? I've been in support for six years and have not seen a virus cause a computer not to boot or shutdown or data loss. In this day and age, intruders write code to get personal information i.e. malware (spyware) and adware. Destroying the computer is pointless.

One person posted a question stating they formatted their hard drive and had problems booting. Wouldn't you know it, the first answer was, "it's a virus". If I had dollar for evey computer idiot out there.....

I go on natwest.com, which loads up easily enough, but when i click on the online banking link, the page tries to load up for about 20mins (unsuccessfully) and then the browser (IE7) just closes. Why does the curser of my lap top keep moving away while i type ?
