you might have given ok for some popups like malware,adwares...
that might have changed the setting of the application
so reinstalling the application will resolve your problem
or repairing it ll solve without any loss of errors.

There are one or two known issues with this firefox update, you can see these on Mozilla's website. But what you will need to do is uninstall firefox and reinstall the version that you had before. I have included the link to version 1.5 for you.
It may also be that your firewall is not set to accept firefox. You may need to change these settings. See your firewall manufacturer's website for more information.
The message just came up for me just now. I clicked to restart later so hopefully it won't happen to me too!
Seasons Greetings
Richard

Uninstall and Re Install, thats my suggestion, there was an update from Mozdev, but maybe your Firewall or AV broke the pakets up. it happens, just Un-Install and Re-Install Fresh, its allways best to do anyways, and will also show people how and why to make System Backups more frequently.

It could be you have a firewall installed that hasn't yet given permission for your new Firefox software to access the internet.
Is your account on the computer the only one? if so do you have "administrator" privileges on the firewall? check the settings and see if Firefox has access.. if you don't have Administrator privileges get into the account that does have and change the access privilege for firefox..
it happens to me all the time

That popup was the latest update to update you to version 2.0.0.1, but apparently you had problems with it.
Mine worked just fine
Just try reinstalling Firefox

go to control panel, add/remove programmes, remove mozilla firefox from your computer. then go on the net through internet explorer and download firefox again. it should work fine. its sensible for the page to say, server not found because you should always see if the internet service is connected. god won't connect it ready for you on firefox.

As well as all the other advice, check that its not in 'offline' mode. Click File and near the bottom of the list ios 'work offline', it should be unticked. If its ticked just click to untick it.

Maybe it's the internet connection itself. Do you get the same message with internet explorer? If so, then check your connection, calling your provider if necessary.

Each time you upgrade your browser the firewall (I hope you've got one) sees a new application, and may block internet access until the set-up is adjusted
