Chatting to strangers isn't necessarily bad. Just remember you DO NOT KNOW the other person and they can be deceiving you by misrepresenting themselves. By all means chat away about subjects you may have a common interest in, but NEVER EVER give out any personal information.
Don't give out your school name for Pete's sake. Unknowningly and over time you can reveal little snippets of yourself that make it easy to track you down. You might reveal one time that you are from South Dakota and another time the name or mascot of your school. From that alone they can narrow down your location.
Use common sense, have a good time and never ever reveal any personal information or send or receive files from each other. And if you ever get a funny feeling trust your instincts! And tell your parents!!!! You can always ask yourself, " would I want my chat contents to be made public"? You should always be able to answer that with a definite "yes"! :)
As for people you know,.....never say anything you don't want coming back on you later or used against you.

Its the worst. Its like a bunch of little intense college childrens on summer season trip babysitting rug rats mutually as on a smash style of sense ... style of like how yahoo chat use to be ... uninteresting.

Bad? No. However you should always be cautious talking to strangers in any situation be in real life or the internet. I wouldn't give out too much personal info to them.

hmm people you dont know its kinda bad cuz you dont know who they are. they could be sexual predetors. you could put yourself in danger. dont be fooled by their pictures. and of course its safe to talk to ur friends i mean you know them. i do it all the time
