My computer takes for ever & a day to load internet and any other programme (start up is slow also) is there something I can do to speed this up? I have done a disc celan up but does not seem to have made much difference?

Is there a quick way in Windows XP to rename a large number of files in a folder at once. I have a large number of files and I want to add the same prefix to each of the filenames so I can identify them as belonging to a specific project. For example: files 123, 456, 789 would become AB123, AB456, AB789. Renaming each file individually will take forever!

i have a virus in my computer and i also have the anti virus like spybot/symantec but everytime thoses antiviruses scan my computer, it keeps saying that they can't remove the virus because its in my memory! grrr...i want to reboot my computer but I don't know how to... also, if i want to save some pictures/infor from my computer, can I do that with a 2gb thumb drive? Also, I know that I need to reinstall everything... do I reinstall it from the CDs that were given to me by the computer manufacturer? I really need some help with this one... I take online classes and I don't really want to spend $500 to get a professional to do it... Please help... I'd very much appreciate it :)
