A cd-r holds 700 MB of data while a dvd-r holds 4.7 gigabytes of data. I can store and backup a lot more on the dvd-r disc. But my computer has a cd-r drive and not a dvd-r drive. I want to backup and store documents and possibly photos I have scanned on the computer.

it won't even restart for that matter! well, to get it to shut down, you have to do it the usual way, but then once it gets past the "saving your settings" screen to the "windows is shutting down" screen, you have to turn it off manually...because of this, i can't restart my computer...how can i fix this?

I am in Japan right now and thinking of buying a tv tuner for my laptop computer. I was just wondering if it would work when I get back to the U.S.A? Will I be able to watch a program back in the U.S.A using a Japanese tv tuner?
