I just got a beautiful Sony 19" monitor, amazing quality, DVI and all, but right in the corner, A GIANT DEAD PIXEL!!! It had to be a big one, AND IT'S BRIGHT RED!!! How noticable :( There goes a nice $200! It's going right back to Circuit City tomorrow morning! Oh, and my question, What's DVI anyway?

OK I know what an IP address is so please don't give me links or explain what it is. My question is if you create a new account onto your computer will it have a different IP adress. You know how you can have several different accounts on your computer, does each one have a different IP address?

I am planning to start a carrer in software, my friends suggested me Oracle 9i to start with ( as I tried .net and it had concepts of c and c ++ which I am not aware of)...do you think taking up Oracle 9i and then doing a OCP certification is a suggestable option? For the record, I'm on a local university computer in a lab. I am getting a blue, crash screen, saying that "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage." This is on my Dell, for the record. It tells me to go into safe mode and deal with the problem that way.....but when I do that, it scrolls and brings me back to the blue screen again.

Should I call Dell Tech support or what? I'm not sure what to do now.

I want to be able to type in my room or something and then be able to save it to a disk or jump drive or something. I don't want a laptop, they're too expensive. Doesn't something like this exist?

Pc seems to be reading only 128MBRAM only and not the full 256 which in installed. How is it possible the PC is doing this and how can I fix it?

Given that hard disks keep getting bigger it seems there will be a day when we can put every CD ever made (assuming a CD is 700 mb) on one hard drive. What I am not sure is how many albums there are in the world (I can assume 1 million) and how quickly hard drives will get bigger and whether they will run into problems associated with Moore's law (?) - doesnt that say that computer chips cant get any smaller after about 2015?

Another idea is how long before every film ever made can be stored (assuming each DVD is around 8Gb).

Many people (about 10) use the computer terminal where I live. When I came back from vacation, the printer would not print. I'm sure it is still wired properly, so it must be a 'command' problem (I guess). When I click 'print', though, absolutely nada occurs (not even an error message). Any suggestions on how to fix this. Thanks much! Oh yeah: nobody in the house recalls any 'wrongdoing' on ther part.
