Does anyone know of a typewriter that could save to word?

I want to be able to type in my room or something and then be able to save it to a disk or jump drive or something. I don't want a laptop, they're too expensive. Doesn't something like this exist?

They did at one time, I don't know about now. It would be ASCII text though, not Word format. That does convert, but not the formatting. My suggestion would be to buy a used Laptop. Those get pretty cheap, and if all you want to use is a word processor, you don't need much CPU power. Even an old 486 would do.
