If you can keep your old PC for a while / or your old Harddisk, connect it as a slave disk in your new PC, transfer your files to new Harddisk and give back the HDD/PC. Most of the dealers allow it if you are going for an exchange.

Put all the files you want to save into a zip file or several zip files, go to www.yousendit.com and send. Put your email address in and upload the zip file. Once you set up your new PC, your email will have a link to your zip file
