When I Log on, the first thing my computer opens with is a thing called 'Common File' . I have to click out of this to continue with my own agenda. What is it ? Where did it come from? Do I need it? Can you help me, please?

I believed that the message was going out to the Brits regarding the weather and now I'm being told that it is hot were they are! Did I do something wrong?
By the way, I don't have a problem with Australians - many of my relatives live there including my Dad in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. Anyone live near there - Brad something avenue on the Maroochy River! Been there and love it!

I'm scanning a lot of my father's work stuff and I look directly to the light emerging from the scanner ..it is harmless or not ?? i want to know alos sometimes unconsiously lurn my laser mouse upside down and look to it ?? what about that??

Now that I've got iTunes for music and DivX for movies, I dont really need Media Player anymore (I think). But how do I get rid of it? I cant find it in the 'Add/Remove programs' list. There is something called Viewpoint Player in the list with an icon like WMP....is that what I remove??

I am starting uni next month to study graphic design. I have been told by a few people that getting an apple mac is far better than using a normal pc as it is what is used by most of the graphics world. Since then I have been asking for advice as to what apple mac I should get, and I have since got different responces. Some have said that a pc would be better as an apple mac would cause a lot of problems. I am a bit stressed as I want to be prepared for when I start uni, and not have to start looking for something after I have started as it will be quite a hectic time as it is. Can anyone advise me please.

i recently downloaded the windows media player 11 beta, but i soon discovered that it doesn't work with most of the songs i listen over the internet. so i tried to download back the older version, windows media player 10. but it is saying that access is denied because the latest version of media player already exists on your computer. you might say it is the latest and best but i want back my old one. can u please give me any suggestions? i regret i got it....

IE thinks that I don't have flash player installed. Macromedia keys corrupt. Can't re-install, can't open, delete or rename key. Flash player works fine in Firefox, but not all web pages open correctly (or at all) in Firefox. The other corrupt key is Magnet (as in Limewire) interestingly this follows Macromedia alphabetically in the registry list, is this more than coincidence? Disk check says no errors. Any help appreciated I have not been beaten by a PC yet...
