Should be "C:\format", then hit enter.

Mind carefully the options asked when prompted during this procedure and be aware once you format the hard drive, creating new tracks and sectors, ALL residual information will be completely DELETED permanently on that drive.

first type the below command and follow the instructions
fdisk

This command will allow you to partition the disk into as many partions as you wish,

it will atoumatically lead you to format the disk.

Just the command format c: will not help to solve the total problem.

If you want the drive to be bootable use the "format c: /s" command..This will copy the boot files to the hard drive so you can boot to it if need be.
