you might have virus, spyware, or adware running on your computer. I know that that will definatly slow down your computer. Even if you do have dial up there is NO reason that it should take 10 minutes to load any website (unless it is just peppered with videos). Normal websites take 30 seconds to a minute to download with dial up. I suggest running your adware and spyware scanners as well as running your anti-virus. If you dont have any of these scanners OR an antivirus then let me make some suggestions.

You can download adaware which is a personal adware and spyware scanner at http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1.

Also windows has a free online live scanner that will scan your hard drives and your registry for viruses, spyware, and adware. You can find that here: http://safety.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah . I caution that this will take quite some time to download and run (especialy if you are using dial up).

if your computer is that slow there is only really 1 cure for it and that is to back up all the stuff you need off it and format it, be warned though you have to make sure you have all the drivers you need however if you are using XP they seem to carry a lot of the drivers for you and install them automatically, by the way it going to take you a couple of hours to format and load the O/S back on to your machine but I assure you it will run fast once you've done it after all it'll be like having a new machine once done. if you need help in how to do it just email me.

You have to do a defrag on your hard drives--that's a start--if you have programs that you don't use that are taking up space get rid of them, it should speed up your PC.
