Cause last night I was chatting with sum friends and then my computer screen went dark, saying "low in resources". Would buying virus protection software work. Thanks!

You're low in memory. Either get rid of the extra junk on your computer or purchase and install new memory. Your computer is growing weary.

computer resources are mainly two:
1. CPU:
2. Memory which is either:
a. RAM (Physical Memory)
b. Virtual Memory.
when your computer says that you have low resources, then:
1. CPU: you are running much programs or their is a particual program that takes all the cpu, you can close it from TASK MAnager, sort the process by CPU usage then end the process that takes more of CPU.
2. In RAM: you can also sort the process in task manager by memory usage then end the task that consumes memory, or you can can make your virtual memory bigger, reply to tell you how?

It means your RAM memory is getting low.
Go find cleanup.exe on the web, (freeware) download it and clean out your memory.

please check your memory......you have too many applications running.also see to it that your hard drive has at least 10% free space.
advice...run your machine with min 512 ram when burning dvd's or playing games

Buy more RAM and maybe a bigger hard drive.
