ok, first off, sorry, i know i just posted the question but someone pointed out a mistake in it andi couldnt find an 'edit post' button ^.^'

anyways, i want to make an AMV using a video that i downloaded from limewire. when i downloaded the video it came as a .avi, but i need it to be a .wmv to import it into windows movie maker. any advice on how to do that?

How many people here knew that you cant name a folder 'con' on any computer? Try it, its impossible. and if you tried it and succeeded let me know(but you wont beable to)

I'm going to school in the fall as an English major. I have to have a new laptop but don't know which to choose. I also study French and use the Rosetta Stone software from time to time. I don't know too much about computers but I looked at a 13" Apple and it seems to fit my needs. All I want is to get a reliable, durable laptop that can handle my class work, language software, movies, music, wireless internet and minimal gaming for around $1500. Does anyone have any advice?

I transferred a file of mine onto a recordable disc but now it will not let me save new information on it, because it says its read only, how do i change this.

I fix desktop pcs for free for poorer families and single moms that people give to me. I also fix pcs for free that poorer people bring to me for repair.
If I can obtain a laptop I can use it to beta test software for companies who are willing to give me free software in exchange for useability information.
Since I am on a very tight disability budget, I cannot afford to buy one.

On my desktop background is says, "Your computer is in Danger! Windows Security Center has detected spyware/adware infection! It is strongly recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss."

I have a Windows 95 computer, and just recently, it stopped working. It says C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS is missing/corrupt. Is there anything I can do to make my computer get to working again? I've tried booting it up in safe mode, but that doesn't work. I just need it to work long enough to get my files of the computer. PLEASE HELP!!

i have two operating systems and i can't format one drive, with the unwanted OS, so i tried to delete everything manually, but the WINDOWS folder has some files that i can't delete, (flash.exe) and more. Is there something i can't do for this?
