I was watching some comedy clips, coming in a stream from a BBC site. Can I download the files to my C drive for moving to my mobile phone?

Should maybe mention the clips were coming down and playing through "Real Player"!

With Windows Media Player sometimes I have found the files in
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player
I copy them out of there and rename them with a meaningful name & the right extension (eg .wmv) BEFORE I close down Windows Media Player (as it deletes them on exit).

In the case of Realplayer try looking in C:\Documents and Settings\\Application data\Real\RealPlayer\Temp\

This method doesn't appear to work with the BBC website probably because it is launching the realplayer Internet Explorer plugin rather than the full Realplayer application.

Ya... you can of course download them... but everyone does not allow... eg. Yahoo Movies Trailers can't be directly downloaded... OK now here is one way that has worked well for me....
(1) by right clicking / or some other method... try to find the properties of the file... there you will find a link to a particular file on web....
(2) Now Open Notepad and type this down exactly...

Test Page

link

now save this file as some html...
(3) open it in IE/Mozilla.... and right click the link and click download,,,, Viola.... done..

(4) Now some sites fool you by giving you a playlist instead of direct file so//// after you download that... open it again in Notepad... you will see the actual link there.... repeat steps 1-4 and done... K then.

You need to download software that does that. The only ones i've been able to find you need to pay for.
