I have a Dell that had a hard drive failure -- I'd like to take the hard drive from that Dell and put it in my other Dell (as a slave drive) just to see if I can get to any of the files. (I tried disconnecting the CD-drive from Dell #2 and adding the failed drive from Dell #1 with those connections, but that didn't work -- I changed the jumpers so they looked like Slave in the diagram, but maybe that wasn't right?) I just want to try to grab a few files from the failed drive. Help!? Thanks.

I had to reinstall windows on my laptop I was having problems with windows installing back on the laptop so I tried to delete the partition now I'm having trouble verifying drive intergrity with fdisk. could this be caused by a failing disk drive or bad sectors on the drive itself?

the main memory consists of words,which contain data and instructions...when CPU reads them jhow does it distinct if it is a data or an intruction that he reads abd fetches from memory?

In the beginning I had only 100,000 files in my computer. Now it is increased. So Norton takes too much time to analyse them. I have copied too many videos in the hard disk. I think this is the reason. I have still more space (175 GB) in the hard disk. I can store still more videos in it. But analysing time going on increasing. Is there any solution to this, I mean to finish the analyse quickly?

I recently bought a new microphone for msn as my old one stopped working. But when i plug it in, nothing comes up where i configure microphone for msn settings. i have this jack sense thing where it senses speakers and mics if they are plugged in the right place. i have an external hard disk of 100 GB. it was working fine till last night but suddenly when today i am connecting it to the laptop it shows the 'windows- delayed write failed' error - 'windows was unable to save all the data to the file G:\$Mft.the data has been lost.....'
when i access the hard disk through My Computer, it shows all the folders on the disk but they all are empty, i am not being able to access any file on the hard disk too... please help

I am thinking about buying a new system with an AMD Athlon X2 6000+ CPU with 1000Mhz FSB (2000 MT/s). The motherboard supports DDR2 RAM. What speed of RAM should I get to match the CPU? Is it the same deal as with DDR RAM? I have lost track of the speed matches with the dual cores and whatnot coming out now...how does it work now?

My computer has been playing up lately. I have formatted and reinstalled and repaired and its still dodgy. I checked my event viewer and theres loads of errors. I think the jumper settings may have been wrong, could this be the cause? I checked online for the settings for my HDD (Samsung HD400LJ and HD401LJ and they are not very clear. If anyone knows the settings please let me know. And what else do you think could be wrong with the drives?

I have a desktop with XP SP2, there's only 1 user (administrator) on it, we configure internet connection smoothly and previously i can get intouch with the taskmanager, regedit, run(the start menu shortcut) and automatic updates(i actually disable it). virus and spyware attacks my pc and when i boot it one day my internet explorer displays porn and my internet options disabled the default browser, when i check on run (to run msconfig) it wasn't there and when i rightclick the taskbar(to run taskmanager) it's disabled, regedit also(when i access the c:\windows\system32) says' dont have administrative privillage', no restore points saved, what should i do... pls elp
