i have an external hard disk of 100 GB. it was working fine till last night but suddenly when today i am connecting it to the laptop it shows the 'windows- delayed write failed' error - 'windows was unable to save all the data to the file G:\$Mft.the data has been lost.....'
when i access the hard disk through My Computer, it shows all the folders on the disk but they all are empty, i am not being able to access any file on the hard disk too... please help

A) you have a bad hard drive.
B) you have a virus
Either way sound like you have lost your data. Before you give up hope or do anymore damage. Answer take it to a repair shop and see if they can recover your data.

u have to do two things format ur external HDD and change ur USB port
