Trying to change the monitor resolution on a XP desktop that I just restored. It won't let me move the slider? The monitor is working okay.

Any ideas?

I have an old samsung 15'' monitor that I am no longer using, I also have an old ps2 and xbox360. What would I need in order to be able to connect the gaming consoles (red, white, yellow) to the back of the monitor? I know it is some sort of adaptor but I forgot the name.

Ok, here we go. I was working on my comp and i removed the RAM sticks and put them back in. after that the comp would not not boot up, it powered on but did not beep or boot up. along with that there is no signal being sent to the monitor. i have checked the plugs and have re-seated the graphic card and don't know what els to do. along with this the RAM sticks get REALLY hot while it is powered up (don't know if that is normal but worth mentioning)

I currently have a standard size 17" LCD display. I've been thinking of getting a 19" Widescreen LCD display. I've heard that they are sized differently because of the wider screen aspect. I would assume that the 19" would be just like a standard 19" just a little wider. What is the sizing differences between a 19" widescreen LCD and a standard LCD?

A hired computer tech, after doing other desired work, left the screen items too small for my wife to comfortably use and I was unable to reach him thereafter. So I went to 800X600 which makes most sites too large for the screen and is a bother requiring grabbing blue bar and moving screen to the left to reach the X, etc.

Alright so my problem is, my monitor has all these curvy lines flowing across the screen in a crosshatch type pattern. The severity of it is a funtion of a variety of variables including the color the monitor is currently displaying, the contrast setting, and the brightness setting. For example dark gray causes it to go absolutely crazy. Adjusting the contrast and brightness settings I can bring the movement to a crawl but the crosshatch pattern is still there. I've been trying to decide whether it's my monitor or vid card. The only test I could think to do was to take a screenshot and see if it recorded the crosshatch pattern...that, I thought, would tell me if the video card was sending these messed up pixels. When I pasted the screenshot the pattern wasn't there. I'm guessing this means it's my monitor. Any ideas?

There seems to be something wrong with my monitor screen. Its hard to explain but it is easy enough to read the writing but if there is a block of colour it seems to be wriggling and moving. (like when someone wears something with a dogtooth check design on telly!)

Can anybody tell me what the problem is and how to fix it.

Thank you in advance

When the computer is turned on, it makes the starting up noise but the screen remains green. The top of the screen is very green and at the bottom it fades to a very very light green/white. The shades of green are in perfect rectangles.
Please help!

it's a polaroid and has no input for computer monitor, so I was wondering if there might be a cable that goes from your video card to a component input maybe? just a shot in the dark, I would rather invest in a cable than a video card but I'll take any info. thanks for the help.

I've tried calibrating my monitor's colors and choosing one color profile after another but still too much of a difference. So when I preview my CMYK files they look weird. The whites are brown. Should I reset my white point? How can I fix this?
