No.

S-Video send the video in a format that is totally incompatible with a VGA input of a monitor.

Some monitors have a composite video in that your PS/3 could drive.

The other alternative is if you have a DVI-D input on the monitor you could try an HDMI to DVI-D cable. This should work for gaming, but unless the monitor supports HDMI encryption it will not work for Blu-Ray disks.

I don't think this will let you play your PS3 on your computer monitor. It only does from your computer to a tv, etc. It states to make sure that your video card does tv out. Also the connector is the same as a monitor so you wouldn't be able to hook it together, it would be like trying to plug a monitor into another monitor.

It looks like it would, my only concern is whether it only sends a picture rather than recieve it. Because you will be sending a picture from a console to the monitor. That device is made to send a picture from your computer to a tv. I would buy it for the price. I own a PS3 and would do it for sure. Thanks for the idea!
