hooking up my computer to my tv using 15ft s-video i noticed horizontal blocks goign up my tv or watching the signal go up the tv...so i put the computer directly to the tv; crystal clear, put the computer back at my desk and got a 15ft svga cable...problems back!!!! would a 15 ft uxga cable clear up my problem? i thought i was some-what computer savy untill i started messing with the cables.........somebody..help me solve this problem, please

SVGA and UXGA are resolutions not video cable standards.

A VGA cable will probably give a better image than a S-Video cable, if your TV has a VGA input, just from the way video is encoded onto the cables and the limited resolution of S-Video.


15 ft is a fairly long run for standard cables, using a high quality VGA cable may help.

If the TV and computer are plugged into different circuits, then you may have a ground loop problem. For that I suspect you would need to move the computer closer to the TV, so they can plug into the same outlet.
