Recently, I changed my old Nvidia Geforce 6800 Video Card for an Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT. The instructions manual said I had to uninstall my all my old drivers, so I did. I booted up my computer and noticed all the startup screens as normal, but when I reached the login screen, my monitor said "Out of Range" I did have a problem where my computer cannot support resolutions below 960x600, dunno why. I already tried pressing F8 before the login screen to change the settings to Safe Mode, but 1. My computer cannot support 680x480 (Safe Mode resolution) and 2. My keyboard for some reason doesn't turn on before the Login Screen. The only possible way I could think of getting on my computer and changing the resolution is visually click on things and hope a miracle could occur, but thats really hard for me to do. If anyone has an alternative way they could show me, That would be greatly appreciated.

lines appear and vanish ;reduces & decreases itself for no apparent reason, could this be a graphic related fault.Earlier I use to doubt if there were magnetic field (cell phone) causing the problem, since there is no such reason ,I wonder how could this be fixed.....?

Hi, I have two questions about soldering components in a monitor:

1. I read that I should use very thin rosin-core solder. So I bought a roll of RadioShack solder, .022 dia (no unit of measurement specified), 62/36/2, Item # 64-013 E. But then I read that I need 22swg solder for this kind of work, which appears to be 0.7 mm in diameter. Is this the same thing? If not, which should I use?

2. Are all heatsinks the same? I read online that I could use a regular alligator clip because it is "just as good" as a "special tool." I have a regular RadioShack heatsink. Is this okay?

(Please, guys, do not post answers that warn me that I will drop dead if I try this. This is an LCD monitor, I know how to discharge the capacitors safely, and it's fine! I just need help with the soldering.)

I swithed to a bigger monitor, but neither work now. When I hooked up the larger monitor, the green light came on for a second, then turned organge. Then I hooked up the old monitor, and it did the same thing. It's like it's going straight to hibernate mode or something.

I tried restarting the computer, but no luck.

Thanks in advance.

I know on a standard NON widescreen LCD monitor (a 17 inch) the proportions are 640x480, 800x600 & 1024x768.
What are the proportional lower resolutions for a widescreen LCD monitor (22 inch) running native at 1680x1050? Whenever I try to lower it in a game, it gets all out of whack because the settings I am trying are not proportionally correct.
Thanks!

I want to get a flat screen TV/Display. I am also thinking about getting a computer down the line. Should I get an HDTV or a computer monitor? Are the two pretty much interchangeable at this point? Will an LCD computer monitor receive HD signals? In the past I have tried to hook up a computer to a tv, and it has looked choppy and distorted. Will the computer look right on an HDTV?
