I have an old samsung 15'' monitor that I am no longer using, I also have an old ps2 and xbox360. What would I need in order to be able to connect the gaming consoles (red, white, yellow) to the back of the monitor? I know it is some sort of adaptor but I forgot the name.

Hiya gatorade,

YES! Going by your monitor info, the BEST option is gonna be a VGA Box with red-white-yellow inputs and VGA output. These can be used as a stand alone console switch or inline with a PC. Once hooked up, you never have to remove or change cables again, just press a button to switch between the game consoles or even a PC.
QUALITY:
This VGA box handles 4 game consoles at once with decent quality and is affordable at $40:

This VGA box handles 2 game consoles at once with great quality and more compatibility. It comes with cables, has way more options and costs $59 with a high shipping cost but you may find it worth your while. Check this one out before making a decision:

Alternatively, you could by 2 adapter cables but that is up to you. Here is a page with a few other options to check out:

Have fun and...

GOOS LUCK!!

You would need something that will take the composite video from the PS/2, frequency demultiplex it to produce the separate luminance and chominance signals, and then convert these into the RGB colour space that the monitor needs.

You will spend less buying a small TV.
