My computer and monitor were both purchased new in 2002, and I haven't had any problems at all until now. The white lines are really only noticible on a white background where's there's text. The guy from ITS said it's because the computer's old, but why did it only start now then?

How well do pc games work with it? Is the image blurred in-game or less responsive than a crt by a noticeable amount? What about surfing the internet or other software?

I have an old Win98 computer and the display suddenly went to 640x480, and large Icons. I went to the control panel to change them back but my selections were greyed out and not selectable. Anyone have any clues about where to go from here?

Right I have a pc monitor (CRT) which is a Samsung Samtron 55E. My mate has got XP (like me) and his computer recognizes his monitor. Mine just says Plug and Play.

The Problem is the monitor can only go up to 1024x768, but my pc says the monitor can go up to 1289x1024, but it can't. And how come my pc recognaises it as a plug and play monitor?

Is it something to do with the graphics card?

like a 42 or larger panisonic flat panel tv/monitor? Does it perform as well as a crt, or noticeably more blurry in-game?

The image is great when it stays on, but it doesn't do that. Instead, you see the image for a second, and then it shuts off. If I hit the power, it will turn on again, but only for a few seconds, and then shuts off.

If you are a pro, maybe you can tell me what the problem may be.

I also need to transfer files from an old computer with not ethernet and Win 3.5 will this work. I don't want to start and then find I have messed everything up.
The old computer has no CD and the floppy doesn't work.
All have Works (different versions) and I have a lot of writing I don't want to lose.

One of my friends bought an HD TV and he said that it specifically said not to hook up a computer to it. Does anyone know why this would be? It seems if the computer has an HD output and the TV has an HD input then it should be fine. I'm looking at buying a big screen TV soon and want to keep this in mind when making a selection.
