I have an old Win98 computer and the display suddenly went to 640x480, and large Icons. I went to the control panel to change them back but my selections were greyed out and not selectable. Anyone have any clues about where to go from here?

Try reinstalling your video drivers.

Start Button, Control Panel, Display, click on the Settings tab and try changing the settings from there. If that doesn't work then your video card probably doesn't have the capability to do a higher res.

You probably need to reinstall your video driver. Usually when a video driver is not present or corrupted, it will grey out anything larger than 640x480

Reinstall video drivers...you can go online to get them if you know the video board. Otherwise, look into your original disks that came with computer. Good luck

You will need to go to system tools >system information...see what type video card is installed ..then go to manufacture site and download updated drivers for it
