minutes i turn on my computer, the colors on the monitor changes. e.g the green color changes to dark orange or brown then it changes to normal after sometime, then back to the dark orange/brown color again. is it my monitor which is the problem, or is it a computer virus?

The checkbox in display properties to "use this device as the primary monitor" is greyed out for both monitors. How can i switch the laptop back to my primary monitor?

I tried swapping in a different "good" monitor and get the same thing. This first happened when I tried to replace the original monitor with a newer one (both are CRTs). The resolution was WAY too large with the newer one so I rebooted but the monitor would not come on. I swapped back the old monitor and the monitor would not display at all.

I left my computer on and then I came back to it and it was off. I tried turning it on, but it will not start and the green light next to the power button just flashes and it doesn't make any kind of noise or beeps. Does anybody know what could be wrong with it and if it can be fixed?

I recently had a problem on my system. The icons on my system tray were small and out of focus. I changed the resolution and the DPI settings to normal. Now my icons are giving me trouble. They are all stuck together on one side of my screen. The icons are almost overlapping each other. Changing the icon arrangement does nothing. Anybody got any ideas?

I know that CRT monitors can emit some harmful radiation that is bad for the human body. An LCD monitor should not do so. But I am not sure. Does it have any harmful radiation or other side effects?

A couple of days ago when I turned on my laptop, it made the usual sounds of startup, but the screen remained black. Thinking it was a setting that I did, I restarted it with no avail. Then today, I called Dell, and they told me to hook my laptop up to an external monitor, which I did, and it turned out the other monitor would show my desktop whereas my laptop would still be black. They told me immediately that I had a bad LCD monitor and need to get it fixed for around $400-500. Which is almost half of what I paid for it. Then i took my laptop to my computer teacher, and then a fellow student of mine made some settings, uninstalled some other monitors that I had on it (made presentations with another monitor & projector a while back) then updated my drivers. Then for some reason, my laptop scrn came back on. Thinking my troubles were over, I turned my laptop tonight, but it came on with the blackscreen. After a few mins the normal scrn came back on again. What should I do? b concerned?

I have an intel 256 mb onboard VGA card. Im able to run a monitor to extend the desktop onto another monitor but i want to be able to close the lid to my laptop and have two monitors. I try to enable the second monitor but it doesnt show up as a monitor extended from my desktop? What do i do, I tryed advanced settings and that doesnt work. Im using a y splitter could this be the problem, can you not run duals on a laptop?

Ive heard you need 2 seperate VGA cards to run dual monitors, or does anyone now of a good monitor hub kind of like a switch but it allows you to run more than one monitor, got the link for me?

If the IE browser is shrunk to look more like the aspect ration of a normal screen, the images fall into place properly.

When it’s maximized, the images overlap.

There was a setting in the Intel graphics card that allowed me to set the aspect ratio, but that did nothing to improve it.

I am having problem with my PC. My PC was working fine. I recently changed my ATX casing along with its Power Supply. But when I connected my monitor to my NVIDIA Geforce 6200 (TC) PCI card, green vertical lines appeared on the screen superimposed on the picture. Windows booted normally with a prompt that new hardware found. I installed the drivers in a hope that the lines will be gone but after that the computer restarts continuously at windows XP startup. But when i plugged the same monitor to my Built-in INTEL 915 VGA the computer booted normally with no lines. Please help me. I've tried everything I could.
