Don't listen to the radiation crap, they don't put out nearly enough to really harm you. LCDs are better, they produce less eye strain because they do not blink like CRTs. Also, the image quality on new LCDs is excellent.

Yes LCD monitors are far better for your eyes. With CRT monitors the image is perpetually refreshing and causing your eyes un-necessary strain with minor re-focusing necessary while viewing. However, LCD screens print a fixed image and update every few microseconds. (Eg. Some have a 8ms refresh rate), over the long term this is definitely an improvement over CRT for your eyes.

Yes they are LCD's are better for your eyes than CRT monitors.
CRT monitors create images by striking beams of very fast and high energy electrons to the screen. while
LCD monitors create images by the chemical reaction of electronic power induced in a maxtix format to the screen creating an image.
due to that difference the LCD monitors emmit very very little or no radiation that may harm your eyes over a long period of time compared to the CRT monitors which emmit radiation due to the energy created when electrons collide with the screen wall.
but when it comes to image clarity CRTs are way better than LCDs
