I currently own a Gateway 500S that I had purchased in june of 2003. Last weekend, I purchased a Gateway , 21" wide, flat screen monitor from best buy. To my dissapointment, when I hooked up the monitor to my system, i got sub par graphics. I wound up taking the monitor back to best buy the following evening.

I know I must upgrade the graphics card within my pc. I am currently doing research and trying to determine which will be the best graphics card that will be compatable with my system. Any recommedations? I want to spend anywhere within a range of $200-$300. I am planning on getting the monitor again for christmas.

Does my LCD screen need the protection of a screen saver? I understand that the CRT tubes needed protection, but wonder if the same still applies.

I turned my computer on the morning, and my screen looks horrible! The colors are all shaky and not correct. What happened?? And is it bad to use while it is like this? Is this fixable?

Can I really damage my LCD screen just by touching it with my finger?

I've heard of that. Don't have one. Any other device like remote or phone displays starts to lose some sections after a year or two. That's not acceptable. If true for TVs and monitors, why isn't it mentionned in reviews?
Who has experienced it?

Hi - I have a DELL Dimension 4600C computer. It has a flat monitor. Anyway, today the monitor started blinking/fading to/from black and white then the computer is on. It (obviously) isn't doing it right now but it does do it at least once while the computer is on. It will either (eventually) stop on it's own, or I have to turn off the computer and hope that it'll be normally once I turn it back on. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening and a possible fix? Please? Thank you.

The graphics card in the iMac is good enought to drive a 30HD display but apple doesn't have the DVI connector out needed... instead they have the mini DVI which can only drive a 23" display... how do i connect a proper DVI connector to the monitor card without cutting the computer apart and voiding the apple care warranty... is there a sneaky way to connect the DVI to the video card?
