On most systems, the video card will identify itself on the first screen when you start the computer. Just note the information given and search the manufacturer's web site or go to http://driverguide.com

If you can not identify it that way, it may be best to take a look at the card itself, or the motherboard if it's built-in.

I need a little more details to give you more solutions. But it could be something as simple as your video card went out. In that case all you would need to do is replace it. If it is a pci, pci e or agp it will be easy to replace. If it is intergrated you will have more difficulties. The other possibility is that the slot the card goes in is now defected. In that case, i am sorry but the mother board would need to be replaced. These answers are all if it is the hard ware. I hope it helped you. Good luck.
If it is more of a software issue, you may try going to the respective manufacturers and try to install the driver that is needed to read it. If you cannot find it there, you could possibly reload the os to see if it will replace what is missing - i know this helps in some cases.

1. Quote : "If your computer is factory made i.e...dell...then go to their website, and type in the search field your model number+ video drivers."
2. The video card are mostly Nvidia or ATI. When you bought your computer, i think it came with a manual where you can fine your video card manufacturer and video card model number (also, there should be a CD with the driver).
