I've heard of that. Don't have one. Any other device like remote or phone displays starts to lose some sections after a year or two. That's not acceptable. If true for TVs and monitors, why isn't it mentionned in reviews?
Who has experienced it?

Well then don't but one if it is "not acceptable." To be honest, usually if they don't have any dead pixels when you get them, they will most likely not get one for good while. But don't expect to buy one today and expect to have it working perfectly in the year 2020.

To anser your question, any LCD display screen, eg. computers, etc. MIGHT possibly develop dead pixels later down the line. but then again - THEY MAY NEVER GO DEAD over many, many years of usage. Impossible to predict when & how badly it would deteriorate. It's certainly possible, but not guaranteed that over the years pixels will die. but remember, that ALL ELECTRONICS INSTRUMENTS are not built to LAST FOREVER, and this goes for all of them, not only LCD display TVs. Much depends on how intensively you use them, and other variables, temperature, humidity, etc. LCD display screens are still a relatively new product, they need DECADES of usage to evaluate what you asked about more precisely. but I wouldn't let this deter me. New technologies are CONSTANTLY BEING introduced to the market. by the time your pixels die, something fabulous might be the new modality of TVs & you might forget about LCDs entirely.
