My dad was trying to make the contrast higher on his computer monitor, but accidentally pressed the lower button. After that, we figured out that the button to make the contrast higher doesn't work. Now he's stuck with a monitor too dark to read. How can i change the contrast?

Those buttons are confusing enough when you can see the monitor. It sounds like he's got himself in a mess.
Look at these directions from Dell to reset your monitor. Of course I don't know what kind of monitor you have. Maybe do a search for, "reset monitor (name of monitor)"
Good luck. If you can't figure it then you'll just have to press the buttons til you get lucky.-------- There's a reset button on Gateway. Link below.
