Nothing will show on the screen do i suppose to get the screen change and where go i go or who do i suppose to go just to get the screen fix

I'm thinking on buying a laptop. I'm in Highschool and i love watching movies and listening to music on my friends laptops. so i would like one with those capabilities. But i'm trying to stay under $1,000. What would you suggest as a good lap top for me? O also I'm kind of stuck on Microsoft so no Mac for me. Allso a nice size screen would be nice.

so- i got this dell computer- inspiron series- and it has not been a year yet- about 11 months, and the computer's battery-life has gone. what shud i do? do i need to buy a new one- or wud dell replace it? what shud i do? new batteries are expensive

My dad gave me his old laptop. It's a Dell Latitude with a Pentium 166 processor. It has been reliable until last year. The fan doesn't work and I think that caused it to overheat. It was able to support Windows 98 only. The power supply still works.

I plan to have it fixed, and while I'm at it, I was thinking if I would be able to upgrade the processor and the likes. I would like to give it my sister who's in college when I get it fixed.

Give me some options here, im thinking namebrand like HP or Acer, Compaq, Sony, Dell, something in the 4-500 range, Definately needs DVD RW, and good amount of GB memory. Any Ideas ? give me the link to the page when you find it please.

It has an Intel Core Duo processor T2300E (1.66GHz, 667MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache) 512MB DDR2, and built in graphic media accelerator.
i need everyone opinion about it. what is the best Graphic card? and should i upgrade my RAM? please feel free to suggest.

P.S i use my laptop for most things like gaming, internet chatting..etc.

I am debating whether or not to add bluetooth to my new laptop. I'm not even sure how useful it will be. Just sounded fun to have! If it is a big energy drainer though, I will pass. Thanks!

I already have an existing wireless adapter on my main desktop that feeds my internet signal to my laptop. However, whenever I am out of range I cannot get signal. I would like to be able to take my computer in a public place and get online. I am wondering if I need a wireless network card or what can I do? Thanks

my old landlord used to mess with my computer to configure it to his connection, but ever since i moved out it hasnt been working. even if i try to plug it into the house internet. does anyone know why this is?? can i take it anywhere to have it looked at, that won't cost me a lot of money?? please help! i've been paying this laptop off but havent been able to really use it.

i am downloading a torrent, and i cannot turn my pc off, but i want the fans to be able to work well so it does not overheat, and i think that by putting it upside down or on its side it would be giving the fans the highest ability to mix with the air around it, but i am worried about the effects of putting a laptop on its side. help me please?!?
