I am debating whether or not to add bluetooth to my new laptop. I'm not even sure how useful it will be. Just sounded fun to have! If it is a big energy drainer though, I will pass. Thanks!

Blue tooth will drain a little more power from the Battery of the laptop, much like blue tooth drains the battery from cell phone batteries. Blue tooth mice are only useful on laptops only if you plan on using it plugged in on a desk most of the time anyway, so in that case the power issue really wouldnt matter.
most people use the laptops trackpad VS a mouse anyway just because of the portability of it.

Bluetooth uses power all the time it is on - it has to transmitt to reasure of connections. So the mouse will use battery power and the laptop will use more power than when bluetooth is turned off.

If you have a bluetooth you need to go to the dentist pretty quickly. Could be serious.
