My battery is dead and I lost the ac adapter. I ordered another one but it will not get here until sometime next week. Is there something that I can connect to my laptop to get it to power up?

I suggest not unless you want to risk damaging your laptop.
The power adapters are specific as to the amount of power they produce for any piece of equipment they generally don't mix and match.

A fully charged battery?

Short answer. No. There isn't. I know people that keep 2 batteries and one on an external charger for such occasions. You're probably going to have to wait for the cord to come in.

It is risky to connect any other adapter other than the recommended adapter. see if you can borrow from a friend who has similar laptop as yours
