OFF, for sure, Hibernate, does no more than put/s your computer to sleep. Sometimes when it comes out of hibernate, you will have a problem clicking on a Browser and getting it to connect. Don't forget when you shut off your computer it allows it to reset your systemm this is a good thing to do at least once a day.

I am a hibernate junkie! Everynow and then, it is best to restart just to get everything in order, then you can just hibernate it for the next month :P Thats what I tend to do. The good think about hibernate is, is that your computer DOES actually turn off, it just saves your desktop in the current state, thus cutting down on start up time and stupid programs that pop up no matter how many times you change the startup options :(
My computer is completely fine and I don't turn off my computer much at all.

I use hibernate all the time. Hibernate does shut off the unit but it keeps the programs in memory so you do not have to boot up when you start it up. It also shuts down faster. I have had issues with stand-by but never hibernate.

hibernation is what I would prefer. Personally, I leave my computer on 24/7 and just turn off the monitor. There is no danger in leaving your computer on all the time. You will want to restart every now and then just to clear the RAM.

hibernation is best !
it downloads a snapshot of what drivers or windows were running to ram and reloads it when you restart this causes much less harm than a full boot with is hard on the hard drive

generally, if u have a relatively new computer, hibernating is fine. make sure to restart every so often or your computer will slow down

my ma used to use hibernate primarily on her laptop over a month or so it created major issues that would take me a day or 2 to correct. shutting down properly is always best.

I always put mine on 'standby' & switch the screen off.
But someone told me a PC has a life span of 40'000- 50'000
hours, & when you swith off, you use an hour everytime, as to seconds when its on standby.
