is there something i can by to keep my laptop cool when i use it on my bed?

you would get a notebook fan or cooler that would cost about 20$ and is available online... you need to place it under your laptop to cool.

there are fans you can buy that sit under the lap top that helps keep it cool they run from 20 bucks on up
