I'm planning to buy a laptop. I have no specific video card type in mind but would like to know which performs better given the advances in technology - nvidia or radeon. The laptop is for office/business use and for gaming.

nvidia has an advantage in performance-all the benchmarks prove it.

Ati Radeon in a note book will mean your getting an AMD processor. Nvidia Geforce will be an Intel processor (in most cases) and as im a die hard AMD fan im going to stick with them. ATI was bought by AMD last year, there for the motherboards (also made by ATI in most cases), processors, and video cards work together in harmony (hopefully).

In my view their the same now they both as good in less your look at the very expensive ones that offer some different things. But overall in the affordable ones their primarily the same i have had a couple of each ranging from 150-250 and i find its just their software really that make them different.
