Laptops & Notebooks - February 2007

I'll be using it at home for basic home use. Wireless is a must. I'll be surfing the internet a lot. I will be using MS Money, Firefox and word processing. I also want to watch DVDs with it. No games, I have a desktop for that. What are the minimum specs that I should look for? Any other advice?

OK, so I just got my laptop and I have it all set up with internet. But when I was at work yesterday, I couldn't use the internet. It wasn't working. I don't know if it was b/c there was no signal. Do I need to buy something fo rmy computer that lets me use my laptop and internet when I am away from my house. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505. I have the Netgear wireless thing for my internet in the back of my laptop. What do I need to do or buy to get internet when I am away from my house where there is a signal. Or should i not need to buy anything?!!? I don't know... sorry if this is a dumb question... but I am kinda new with the whole laptop and internet thing,please help...thank you!

i have compaq presario v2000 notebook.my sys config,
compaq presario v2000
xp sp2,
mobile pentium processor,
256 mb ram
40 gb hard disk space.
now i got another 256 mb ddr ram in my hand.so i wanna add memory in my system in 256+256=512 basis.i can open system memory pay,i can view just one memory slot.but in my system manual,it has 2 memory slot.
i can run belarch advisor ,to view my system config,it also shows my system have 2 memory slots.one is full(256),another one is empty.but i can't identify my system 2nd memory slot.already i can view my friends notebook(dell),there is 2 memory slot to view clearely.but in my compaq presario v2000,i can't view my 2nd memory slot.
plz help, to view 2nd memory slot in my system & how to add another 256 mb ram in my system. plz explain step by step.

The screen just blinks on and off. Sometimes I have to open and close several times until I get a good position and it remains on.
Why!?
How can I fix that?!
The model is an Acer 5102.

I'm useing PC 2100 DDR Memory Its 224MB of Ram 1.26 GHz ec card. I know for sure it can go to 515MB of Ram do to a frend used his card to do some gaming on this desk top and wanted to know whan you buy Memory cards Do you go my brand name or go by size? And who has relly good deals for them?

i accidently shut down my iBook with a disc in it, and now the disc will not come out, i have tried dragging it to eject a TON of times, and hitting F12 a ton of times. NOTHING IS WORKING!!!! THANK YOU !!!!!
