then it says something like physical memory dump. I have more than 1,000RAM, so I do not belive its a memory issue. More than a month ago I installed a new video card, NVIDA GeForce 5200.....and just two days ago I had added an extra 512mb RAM, putting me over 1,000. How do you check to see if drivers are up to date? I did check to see if they are all working and it says no issues.........can anyone help?

I have a Compaq Presario

My computer is made by emachines and I have windowsxp. I still have no sound. There must be another way of finding out if i need a sound card without taking apart the computer and installing a card. Right??? That scares me. I don't even know the definitions of some of the terms that the last person who was trying to help was using. I really want sound.

First the lap top is a Latitude D820 and it has to be this laptop. In september it will primarly be used as a work laptop for college, major is CS. The only graphics card Dell is offering is a Nividia Quarto 256Mb which is fine for rendering and image programs but for the time being before college I wanted to know if it would be possible to install a Nividia card that would performe well for Movies, graphics, games, editing movies, and others media applications. So basically would it be possible to order the Nividia Quatro with the lap top and then swap it out for 3 to 5 months with another card that is sutited for media applications.
How difficult would this be?
How would one go about phiscially installing this card?
How would one go about software installing this card?
I was reading some where alot about different drivers for these cards? What is a driver any ways?
If the 820 lattitude laptop already has the Nividia quatro driver installed will it confilict with the new card?

My computer is an Athlon XP 2400 with 1GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce2 MX video card.

I'm not into gaming but I do watch a fair amount of video. Is there any real reason for me to upgrade my video card? If so, what kind of expectations should I have for an improvement in video display.

Besides watching video, I also do some basic video editing and I do things in PhotoShop - though nothing real intense.

I bought a 200GB internal hard drive but i want it works as an external one. I bought a external hard drive enclosure, however, when i put the internal hard drive in the case and connect it to the computer, the computer cannot detect it as an hard drive and only shows as a USB mass storage device in the universal serial bus controllers. and it just cannot install it as a hard drive.
is it the problem of the hard drive enclosure or what?what should i do??? Thanks so much.

Okay. I have an Toshiba Tecra 8000, and Windows Xp Pro, and I have a hdd enclosure connected by an USB. How do I boot that HDD to boot its Winodws OS which is Winodws Xp Home.

I hade this hard drive and just bought the ENCLOSURE.

Also, i tried the My computer, advanced etc, and could not find another OS> But, the instructions on how to set up the HDD Enclosure, i didnt follow it. It said go to computer management and right clcik it and something. Can that be the reason why it is not showing the OS in Advanced in My Computer(or system in control panel).?

Please help me boot another OS using a hard drive, in a HDD Enclosure connected by an USB cable....

RATE my specs and Graphics or video card and accessories reccomendation? (this is my tightly budget built computer, don't blame me I'm a working student LOL) anyone want to reccomend?
I have an AsRock775i65G motherboard Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz Proccesor
1GB DDR ram 64mb Geforce MX420 AGP(-.-)''
I know it's not a good board and cpu and spec, I'm into games and can't decide which card to buy (I'm on a tight budget :) right now :) need to work more :D)

Currently I don't care about DX 10 games and pixel shader 4.0 for games that will run that will again be violent -__- by the way I just assembled this system and I cant buy a new board maybe the graphics reccomendation will do around 50-200cdn dollars. Thanks in advance!!
