Ok, I have almost convinced myself not to buy an X Box 360 and instead to buy a graphics card for my PC. I am running off a Compaq Pressario, which card should I buy to be able to play the latest PC games seamlessly and without any trouble? Also what should I be aware of? (With Graphics cards I mean, I'm quite aware that you shouldn't stick your head in a lions mouth and all that).

I can read from my USB pendrive... copy files from it but I can copy files to it. Then I got my external removable drive, and the problem was just the same. Is there a way out?

Ok, i was going to go all out and build a gaming pc with a nvidia geforce 7950 graphics card. but with that and everything else i was looking at it was going to be like $1300 without a monitor. i went to dell and can pretty much get all i was wanting with a monitor for $1k even. with a compromise on the graphics card. im gettin 2 gigs of memory with a amd x2 dual core 4200 with Vista installed. they give 3 choices for graphics cards, from cheapest to most expensive: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE, 256MB NVIDIA Geforce 7300LE, and 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro. im kinda partial to nvida. but price and quality is much more important. i probably will upgrade in a year or when the price goes down on the high end cards. but what is a good card for now, from the above 3 for a mid level gamer? playin games like FEAR, flight sim X etc, and have no problem. even games that are coming out over the corse of the year, and still will run good? like i said i plan to upgrade so only need for 8 to 12 months.

I only have a few questions. I'm not sure if they are actual problems, or if that is standard for external harddrives.

First question: If my computer needs to reboot, due to software updates and I forget to turn off my external hard drive, my computer says that the boot disk has changed, when it starts up, then I have to press F1 to continue. Is this something that I can get rid of?

Second question: If I forget to turn it off and do a cold boot on my computer, it will say invalid oprating system. I have to turn off my external harddrive and reboot my computer. Is this normal as well?

Ok, I do have another question.

Third queston: When I first turn on my external harddrive, the computer scans all of the files on it and asks which media I want to play the files on. Does it have to scan the external harddrive everytime I turn it on?

Seagate 80 Gb external USB.

I was looking on ebay for video cards and came across PCI-E and was wondering if it'll work in PCI slots, and if so how much of a speed difference will I notice. My current PC specs:

Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ (Prescott Core) with Hyper-threading
1 GB of Ram
HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA4165B (That's what system information says)
80 GB WD Harddrive
Nvidia GeForce MX 4000 with 128MB (in case they came in different memory sizes)
Motherboard came out of an IBM Computer, not sure of the name, but it uses a PCI riser (I believe that's what you call it) and only gives me 2 PCI slots, which one is taken by the above mentioned video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which will work better for a mid-end system, 2 mediocre cards running in dual SLI, or a single card for twice the price? Where is the breakeven price vs. performance point? (nVidia please)
