I am thinking of upgrading my computer from XP to Vista Premium,i have run microsofts advisor tool,and it told me i need to upgrade my Video card,is this the same thing as Graphics card,bit confused!i have fitted a DVD drive and extra USB's to my computer with no problems.So is a video card also easy to fit.

Yes they are exactly the same thing. They are not hard to install at all, just a matter of slipping it into the port, you have to make sure you have secured it in properly, so press a little harder to make sure it slips in. Also you need to be aware of what type of card you need, theres an AGP card which is common amongst older pcs, AGP is a type of port on your pc which the card is slotted into,, the more latest pc have them slotted into a PCI slot, so make sure you look this up as you need to make sure you get the right card!!

Yes, "video card" and "graphics card" mean the same thing. They are not difficult to install, take maybe 5 minutes and a screwdriver. The term "video adapter" and "graphics adapter" also refer to the same thing, although technically when you see the word adapter, it *could* mean a built-in motherboard port, not necessarily a standalone card that fits into a slot.
I'd suggest checking the reviews before you leap off the Vista upgrade cliff- most machines with less than 2gb of RAM run better under XP.

Don't 'upgrade' to Vista
If your video card wasn't going to cut it, the rest of your machine probably won't either.
You don't need it, it's a horrible resource hog, and it will be months/years before they work all the bugs out and get drivers for all common hardware.
(oh, and yes, your video card is the same as graphics)
p.s. to anyone who has been using it and is sold on it - yes, i have it installed on my machine at home, and no - noone 'needs' to install vista. more useless crap from microsoft.

go to microsoft updates....dont search for CRITICAL updates
search for hardware...software.....u will then see the updates for your sound card....wireless card...and pretty much the rest of the NON CRITICAL updates
u will have the option to install updates...
EXPRESS
or
CUSTOM
choose custom..then after it searches...on left hand side...u will see
hardware updates
software updates
check which ones u want to install
u should be ok

yes more or less the same but you will have to look to see what type of slot your card goes into.Either an AGP or PCI
