do u mean that u want to increase the harddisk capacity. For this you have to replace your current harddisk with a new one having more capacity. There is no need to change the hard disk driver for it.

There are a few ways to do this. Buy a hard drive, and install it on the IDE cable on the inside of the pc.. (its easier then you think)... get a USB Flash drive, (jump drive) sold at walmart and other computer stores... or get a external Hard drive and plug it into your usb...
You want to know how much room you need...
The flash drive is anywhere from 128k to 4 gigs. depending on how much you spend,, Anywhere from 15 bucks, to 80 bucks..
A hard drive, 120 gigs about 50 bucks... (Good'Ol walmart..)...

What are you really asking?
Are you asking if you can increase the possible storage space of your hard drive without changing it?
No you can't do that, but you can compress the files that you store on it so that they take up less space, and thus affording more storage space. You can either selectively compress stored files using your favorite utilities. In Windows, you can select the "Compress drive to save disk space" option to affect the entire drive.
But honestly, I recommend adding another hard drive, perhaps an external USB drive. I just bought another 500GB western digital drive for $176. That averages to 35 cents per GB. Storage is cheap, so buy more. {Compare that to the guy above who got robbed at circuit city -- $80 for 150GB averages to 53 cents/GB}

I have an additional external hard drive - you just need an open firewall port or USB port. There are some amazing sales on them.
Here is one place to look. edealinfo.com

If you are talking about storage space, you could add a second hard drive whle keeping your old hard drive. I added a 90 gb one a year ago and it only cost $20. It is pretty easy to install.

You can add another hard drive. Its extremely easy with XP. Just set your primary drive to master and the second drive to slave.

Yes, get a USB external hard drive from circuit city, or something. They are relatively cheap. I have a 150GB. I got it for like $80.

Sure can, either an external drive or an additional internal drive.
Pretty easy actually, just make sure you try and get one that is either usb 2.0 or whatever the fastest interface is.
I recommend replacement, but whatever.
