This depends on your computer hardware and the way you use your graphics card. AMD and ATI recently teamed up, so ATI cards work better with AMD processors and nVIDIA cards work better with Intel processors. In my opinion, in ATI vs. nVIDIA, ATI is like AMD in AMD vs. Intel. What I mean by that is ATI is usually just as good as nVIDIA, it just isn't known as well so it costs less. I am currently running a Visiontek ATI X1300 512MB DDR-2 PCIEx16 with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ processor and I am very satisfied.

Asus dont make graphic cards dumn ***. ATI makes the best now. ever since they bought out dimonde. there 1gig card is the best on the market and it better be for like $1500 i have a ati radeon x1600 512mb pcie card and it rocks. its also sli capible.

Nvidia hands down..
DirectX 10 though might not make a difference as much between the 2 but i would still take a Nvidia

They both do, depending on the time.
Right now Nvidia has the better cards, soon ATI will have the better cards.
and it keeps going like that.
